After School Hours

Academic Support

AFTER SCHOOL ACADEMIC SUPPORT

Regular academic support is provided to school-going children during after-school hours as per the needs of children. This helps them to cope with their syllabus and textbooks and prevents children from dropping out of school.

PROJECT PASS (PRIMARY ACADEMIC SUPPORT SYSTEM)

Project Pass provides after-school free academic support to the primary level children who are already enrolled in schools through ‘Project Asha’.

Supplementary education is imparted in different subjects -English, Hindi and Mathematics. In addition to academic support the children are provided with mid-day meals, stationery, school bags, etc.

Engagement in supplementary remedial education also helps keep children in a healthy atmosphere, away from the streets after school hours.

PROJECT PATHWAYS

Transition from junior to secondary school is critical as the course syllabus increases substantially with relatively high standards in subjects like Mathematics and Science. Children may often feel overwhelmed and inadequate-leading to discontinuation, dropping out at this level. Tutorial education with personalized attention becomes necessary.

The objective is to enable children to cope with the increased standards in academics, simultaneously, ensuring a solid foundation for their secondary education.

Project Pathways focuses on children from government schools studying in classes VI to VIII. Children are assisted with their course-work, homework and any area where they may need additional attention. Special emphasis is laid on Science and Mathematics. It entails daily follow-up classes for Children divided class-wise and taught almost all subjects under syllabus. Presently, approximately 115 children are covered.

AMBASSADORS OF PROJECT HOPE

Classes IX and X are extremely important for the students as after passing Xth Board Examination, they are required to choose one of the specialized streams from Science, Commerce or Humanities. These students are ambassadors of hope-both for Aarohan and their parents.

The project therefore offers revision classes in Mathematics and Science on a daily basis; and addresses difficulties faced by students in a particular subject/ topic. In addition to theory, children are also helped with preparation for their practical science examinations.

PROJECT SHIKHAR

It focuses on children studying in Class 11 and 12 who are academically inclined and are willing to pursue higher education- aspiring to reach Shikhar (Peak) in life. In addition to revision classes in different subjects on daily basis; and attending to difficulties faced by students in particular subject/ topic- the following efforts are also undertaken:

->Motivating the students to perform their best academically, career counseling and future prospects; and helping them achieve clarity on career choices.
->Encouraging value based education and an awareness of responsibilities as a law abiding citizen.

Looking at the success of these students, many others in the community get motivated to study which results in achieving higher literacy in the country.
